Westbourne W.I

The Westbourne branch of the W.I meets at St Joseph's church hall, Parkstone on the first Wednesday of the month at 11.15am.

This is an active and friendly group with ladies of all ages who have a wide range of interests including craft, literature, art and films.

We also have the following sub-groups for members to enjoy. These meetings take place outside of the main monthly meetings:

Crafty Ladies
Our craft group meets once or twice a month and dates are confirmed at our WI meeting. We have had a very successful craft group for nearly twenty years, but for various reasons numbers have decreased. In the past we have covered many crafts, especially all forms of embroidery, beadwork, card making etc.

For this our Centenary year we have decided to knit ‘One Hundred Hats’ for the Sailors’ Society. Inspiration came from a recent speaker who told us that demand was huge, and warm hats were welcomed by sailors from hot countries who could find themselves working in very cold conditions.

Theatre Visits
We have started a theatre group recently, and kicked off with a visit to see "Top Hat" in
Southampton, which was excellent. We managed to squeeze in lunch as well!
