STRIVE FOR SUCCESS

It gives me great pleasure to announce the launch of West Bromwich United’s first Adult Men’s team.

With a newly formed management team, combining years of footballing experience at all levels and a high standard of coaching practice, we strive to succeed in every aspect of the sport.

The structure is detailed below;
Wayne Spicer – Manager
Alex Deakin – Assistant Manager
Robert Webb – Assistant Manager
Andy Parkes – Head of Staff

It has taken a lot of effort over a period of time to produce the structure we are introducing this season. This rigorous training programme ensures that the range and level of football is available to all young people within the WBU community and I believe this is one of the key elements to ensure WBU can competitively contend with other structured football clubs whom offer an Adult progression scheme. It is important that we offer the opportunity for all youngsters to develop the key skills needed to successfully integrate from youth stage football through to the level of football being played here at WBU Men’s, this new opportunity presents exciting prospects for all existing WBU players.

As of this season we have appointed an experienced set of background staff to ensure the administration is handled in compliance with the West Midlands Regional League. In addition to this appointment we have made the executive decision to recruit a highly experienced coaching team to ensure the highest calibre of football is being developed here at WBU Men’s squad. The coaching staff consist of Andy Parkes, Paul Thomas and Tommo.

I am very happy to announce that as West Bromwich United is a Nike affiliated club, WBU Men’s team benefit from this association. The squad will be playing in traditional WBU blue on our home pitch and when playing away and an alternative strip required the squad will be representing WBU in Purple. All members of the squad will be required to arrive at all matches in their full WBU tracksuit which again is consistent with all age group teams across the whole WBU community.

We know that we are in a very competitive league this season, but we hold an ambition to take the club to a higher level. We will continue to develop the structure to support this but expect to maintain the values of discipline and warmth as a club, to create the right atmosphere.
Through hard work, and endeavor, we look forward to an exciting, prosperous, and fulfilling journey.

Wayne Spicer (1st Team Manager WBU)
