We are a Surfand Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) School & Hire Centre located on the promenade at the lower cliff lift entrance at West Cliff Beach in Whitby.

Whitby Surf School is a Surf and Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) School & Hire Centre located on the promenade of award winning West Cliff Beach, offering stunning views of this iconic coastline and just 10 mins walk from the heart of this historic town. West Cliff beach is an ideal place to learn to Surf or SUP, as its large shallow gradient sandy beach offers plenty of space and waves for everyone. We’re close to parking on the cliff top and to the amenities of the Beach Management Centre on the promenade (toilets, shower and cafe). Find us at the bottom of the cliff lift.

All of our coaches are qualified Beach Life Guards, Surfing GB / ASI Surf / SUP Instructors and have up to date DBS checks, ensuring you have a safe and enjoyable Surfing or SUP experience. Whether you’re just starting out or have experience already, our lessons are designed to quickly build technique, confidence and water awareness for juniors from 8 yrs and upwards and adults.
