West Sussex County Council social media guidelines for users: June 2015

West Sussex County Council Democratic Services is really pleased to engage with people using social media, as well as more traditional forms of communication. You can find West Sussex County Council on Twitter, facebook, Linkedin and YouTube.

Our social media sites are monitored from 9am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4:30pm on Fridays (excluding bank holidays) and we aim to reply to posts as soon as possible and within three working days.

Here’s how West Sussex Council Democratic Services aims to respond on social media:

We will respond to:
•Direct Questions
•Specific service issues
•Appeals for advice
•If it’s not something we do, we will try to direct you to the correct area.

We will not respond to:

•Every comment
•Abusive language and your comment will be removed
•Politically motivated comments
•Matters addressed to Councillors, although if they are on Facebook in a Councillor function we will try to link them into the conversation.

We ask you to refrain from posting any personal information relating to other individuals.
