Approached by a wooded drive of nearly a mile long, nestling in the hills of Dartmoor lies Yarner, a private two hundred and fifty acre estate with magnificent views overlooking the Wray Valley and ancient Yarner Wood.

The Yarner estate extends to just below the summit of Haytor, an imposing granite outcrop once visited by Queen Victoria and still enjoyed by many people. Stone used in the building of London Bridge (now in Arizona) was quarried on these moors, although today the silence is only broken by the cries of wheeling buzzards. The name Yarner comes from medieval French and means "Where eagles soar."

Recently a Victorian addition to the house has been demolished and replaced with an impressive single story wing with delightful Swedish interior.

This provides a magnificent galleried drawing room with Canadian Maple floors and vast windows which offer spectacular views over Yarner Wood and the Wray Valley. Since 1996 this room has been licensed for civil wedding ceremonies.

Functions, conference facilities and location shoots also form part of the estate's activities. In 1995 Yarner Natural Spring Water was launched.
