The YMCA is a charitable organisation which raises funds to help young vulnerable people.
The YMCA federation focus on four key areas of work: accommodation, family work, health & wellbeing and training & education, with a fifth area concentrating on support and advice. All for the vulnerable young people within in our society.
We raise funds to support these young people in various areas mainly through our 130 plus charity shops throughout the UK.
Pontefract welcomes any Donations of clean saleable items such as furniture, bric a brac, ladies, men’s and children’s clothing and shoes, toys and much more.
If you have a spare few hours a week or more, and would like to volunteer some of your spare time within a friendly environment, helping raise funds for a great cause, why not pop into the shop and have a coffee and speak to one of our managers who would love to give you full details on how to apply.
