Youth Of Loughborough is a Local and National Award Winning community organisation based in Loughborough. We cover all Charnwood Council area.
Youth of Loughborough is a community group aimed at providing and promoting positive activities in Loughborough.
Back in 2012 we decided to launch a group with a difference, a group that would work with the youths to bring positive change to the communities. After a couple of weeks of advertising we had a whole team of volunteers and youths on board and was ready to get cracking in Loughborough.
In June 2012 the Youth of Loughborough team visited many areas of Loughborough to talk with families, youths, schools and other groups to see what was wanted by the youths’, what was already out there and what had already been provided but hadn't worked so well. YOL then got cracking in the community, promoting many services already set up and providing a few outings and projects.
In 2013, due to public outcry Youth of Loughborough expanded and took on many more volunteers to keep up with all of the enquiries. After a first successful year we decided to make our survey annual, enabling us to keep up to date with our members and areas needs while still building up our members / supporters. We provided many trips in Loughborough and also as far out as London, as well as launching our own youth club, projects, services and links with the community.
Also in 2013 we came 2nd place in the National Kids Count Awards for our community efforts, we attended a glitzy award ceremony in the House of Commons... this was not all. We WON Educator of the year at the Pride of Loughborough awards and were finalists in the main category The Loughborough Pride Award!!
In January 2014 Youth of Loughborough expanded once again, offering it's services put of Loughborough! 2015 arrived as did the start of our Annual Survey, the perfect opportunity to give YOUR views! !
