Artists' studios and Exhibition Space

Contains Art is an exciting new project to provide artists' studios, a space for exhibitions and events and a networking centre for West Somerset's creative industries.

Three or more shipping containers will be sited on Watchet's East Quay. Overlooking Watchet harbour and clearly visible from the Esplanade and the West Somerset Railway Contains Art will become a landmark, raising the profile of West Somerset's creative industries and will attract local residents and visitors with an interest in art.

The project, which grew out of Creatives Club and the Making the Links in West Somerset project, is being overseen by Creatives Club CIC. Prend Consulting has been engaged to manage the setting up stage. Funding has been secured to buy and deliver the containers and to begin conversion and refurbishment of the spaces. Work is planned to start in January 2013.
