East Cowes Sailing Club

East Cowes Sailing Club is looked upon as a working club as well as having a good social aspect

East Cowes Sailing Club (ECSC) has a mainly local membership and is located off Clarence Road, East Cowes, near the Victoria Tavern Pub.The Club runs the popular Thursday evening racing throughout the season, using a start/finish line off the Shrape and also the well-established ‘Sail The Wight’ charity race/cruise, raising money in aid of the Island Hospice.


Membership and storage fees are very competitive and the Club caters for a wide range of boating activities. ECSC occupies river frontage with storage sheds, yard and clubhouse. On the water, the Clubs facilities include a number of small boat moorings, a walk ashore pontoon with finger berths for resident boats and a deep water visitors’ berth. The Club also has a dinghy park on East Cowes Esplanade

ECSC was founded in 1912
East Cowes Sailing Club is located in Clarence Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight, to the rear of the Victoria Tavern Public House. The Club caters for a wide range of boats and boating activities, including a Fishing section. Members' boats can be stored on the Club premises (indoor or outdoor, depending on available space in the stores), on fore-and-aft tidal moorings just offshore from the Club, and on tidal "finger" berths on the main pontoon - at the discretion of the Stores Officer. The end of the pontoon is accessible by water at all states of tide. We also have a Dinghy park on the East Cowes Esplanade, with free parking adjacent to it.
