The moving story of life in the "plague village". Eyam Village Museum offers a simple, easily understood presentation of the historical facts.
Our visitors are often surprised to discover how much the Museum has to offer, often describing it as a "tardis" - seemingly much larger on the inside than on the outside.
We have used the space to explain the Eyam Plague story fully, and also to look at plague more widely throughout history. We look at when it happened, how it spread, and how many people were killed.
We then look at how the village has changed in the last 350 years, set against the background of the distinctive local geology that shaped Eyam's development.
