Fullwoodhead Dairy Supplies Ltd, has been in business since 1981.
The Founder Alex Wilson grew up at Fullwoodhead Farm, Gateside, Beith, Ayrshire. On leaving school, Alex worked for RJ Fullwood and Bland Ltd installing and selling milking equipment, Alex married Mareth and built their home at San-Mar, Gateside. After the birth of Brian Wilson, Alex and Mareth set up the business Fullwoodhead Dairy Supplies Ltd.
The first premises was a small rented unit in Paddockholm Industrial Estate, Kilbirnie. Soon moved to a larger unit in Paddockholm.
As the business expanded further the premises at Mossend, Lochwinnoch was purchased.
Unfortunately Alex aged 43 passed away in May 1996. With that came offers of take over for the business but with the help of friends and family and hard work the decision was to keep the business going.
In 2000 the company became a DeLaval dealer, the dealership was made possible through the takeover of Jimmy Miller who had been a DeLaval dealer.
In September 2003 the company was offered to purchase Chambers Farm Supplies. In September 2004 the purchase was complete and the company took on the premises at Ayr Market and the members of staff.
In 2005 the company took on The First Milk Servicing customers and the engineers who carried the services out came to work with us too.
In 2015 the company took over the Dairy Sector of Filpumps business and the 2 employees, thus giving us an office in Aberdeenshire and the area now expanding from South Ayrshire to Shetland.
