Nantgarw China Works Museum is based between Caerphilly and Pontypridd. As well as being a museum to its time as a china works, the buildings also host school visits and classes in art and pottery.
Nantgarw China Works is the only surviving 19th century porcelain works in the United Kingdom. In the early years of the 19th century the most beautiful porcelain every created in the UK was made at Nantgarw by William Billingsley.
Nantgarw China Works is now part museum and part Art Centre still producing high quality contemporary porcelain through its resident ceramicists.
A wide variety workshops take place at Nantgarw including Ceramics, Pottery, Glass making & Basket making. There is also an excellent and popular schools programme.

The museum has limited accessibility for wheelchairs. Although the majority of the site is easily accessible, the second floor of the museum (currently a gallery space) can only be accessed via the stairs.
