Rothwell Preservation Trust

The Trust holds monthly meetings at the Market House in Rothwell.

The Trust was launched at a Public Meeting in Rothwell in 1985, attended by 110 members of the public. The proposal to formally establish the Trust received enthusiastic local support.
The Trusts first three restoration projects were The Market House, Manor House and Nunnery Cottages. Later the Bungalow adjoining the Nunnery Cottages and No. 4 Market Hill were also restored by the Trust.
Other projects are always under active consideration by the Trustees, as there remains many buildings in Rothwell which would benefit from sympathetic restoration.
There is a great sense of civic pride in Rothwell. The Trustees hope that the conservation work they undertake will encourage a wider interest in improving older buildings in the Town and create an impetus for upgrading the environment of Rothwell generally, and help protect the Conservation Area.

The Trust currently has 13 Trustees.
