St Columba's (Old Parish) Church, Stornoway - 01851 705933

St Columba's (Old Parish) Church of Scotland is a progressive, evangelical congregation with a firm Reformed basis.

St Columba's (Old Parish) Church of Scotland has been faithfully serving the Parish of Stornoway since 1794. St Columba's welcomes you to our worship - 11.00am and 6.30pm every Lord's Day with a meeting for Bible Study and Prayer on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm.

The New King James Version of the Bible, Psalms, Scottish Paraphrases, Church Hymnary 2, Church Hymnary 3, Mission Praise, Junior Praise and Moody & Sankey are all used in worship at St Columba's. Praise is led by a highly capable choir, supported by a splendid 1902 Willis Pipe Organ.

St Columba's is governed by a Kirk Session of 16 Elders and is home to a number of vigorous organisations including: the 70 strong Sunday School, the Bible Class (for Secondary age young people), the Guild, the Girls' Brigade and the Ladies Prayer Fellowship.

St Columba's has a strong mission focus. During 2011, £30K was raised to enable the purchase of land for the important Jeevarakshaka Prayer House project in Bangalore, India and strong links now exist between the two congregations.

Following the departure of Rev Dr Angus Morrison for the Parish of Orwell & Portmoak (Perth Presbytery) in October 2011, Permission to Call was granted by Lewis Presbytery and the Nominating Committee found themselves drawn to Mr William Heenan, a Graduate Candidate from Northern Ireland, and, on 5 October 2012, Mr Heenan was ordained into the Ministry of the Church of Scotland and inducted to the charge of St Columba's (Old Parish).

Please join us as 'the Kirk on the hill' keeps the faith handed on to it, runs with patience the race set before it and holds aloft the bright lamps of Biblical exposition, faithful intercession and radiant testimony.
