Tidworth Town Council - 01980 847390

Tidworth Town Council is a corporate body with a legal existence and its decisions are the responsibility of the whole body.

The Town Council has been granted powers by Parliament including the important authority to raise money through taxation (the precept) and a range of powers to spend public money. Its members are either elected every four years, returned unopposed or co-opted to fill a vacant seat. Tidworth Town Council consists of 19 councillors. Each councillor is also a member of a committee. There are four committees:- Leadership, Projects, Community Services and Community Engagment. The Chairs of the committees form the Leadership group. Each committee holds a monthly meeting and their minutes are reported to the full council and ratified.

Town Council meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of the month in Tidworth Community Centre, Wylye Rd, Tidworth commencing at 7pm. These meetings are open to the public and press with the opportunity for members of the public to ask questions during the first twenty minutes at the beginning of every meeting. It would be appreciated (but not vital) if public questions could be provided, in writing, to the Town Clerk seven days before the date of the meeting
