Trafford Ecology Park is a registered Site of Biological Importance, providing a wildlife oasis within one of Europe's oldest and largest industrial parks.
Trafford Ecology Park is a site which is considered vital to its surrounding area and community; operating as a valued training centre of horticultural skills to young, unemployed local residents and schools, whilst providing local businesses and residents access to fantastic green space within the centre of one of Europe’s largest industrial parks. Trafford Ecology Park relies heavily on volunteers to help ensure that this fantastic asset in the heart of an industrial estate remains a valuable green space resource for the local community. Without support and voluntary work from local people and businesses, Trafford Ecology Park risks becoming neglected and derelict like it once was over 25 years ago. As a recognised Site of Biological Importance Trafford Ecology Park is key to maintaining a healthy ecosystem within Trafford Park.
You can donate to the upkeep of the park here: http://www.groundwork.org.uk/Appeal/support-trafford-ecology-park-msstt
Sadly this park is not open to the public all the time as there is not always someone on site to manage it. Due to funding and volunteer shortages we are only able to open it to the public when there are training days being held, please plan ahead and contact Groundwork MSSTT on 0161 220 1000 if you wish to visit the park. This is something that we hope to rectify in the future.
